Mary MacKillop Place Museum
In 2010 I began on a research project with Mary MacKillop Place Museum. The Museum had grant money to create a multi touch interactive display telling the story of the education system Saint Mary MacKillop Father Woods and the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart created in the 1866.
It was my role to pull together the work done by various researchers into text to be read on a screen by all types of visitors.
The visitors to the Museum include pilgrams to Mary’s tomb, many school groups of all ages and casual visitors. When writing the material I needed to be concious of the levles of information different visitors are looking for.
The multi touch screen is a product called Microsoft Surface 2.0. it will allow the curator at the Museum to continue to upload text and graphics.
The project’s first stage was opened in March 2012.
